Calavera Bookmark

Every book has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it, and the soul of those who read it.

- Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Calavera -  otherwise known as a sugar skull, used for the day of the dead festivals originating in Mexican culture. A reminder of our own mortality - and yet, books could be classed as both mortal - where we liken them to companions, and immortal - where they live on, being passed down through generations.

Isn't it a magical thought that someone poured their soul into a book, from imagining it, writing it, making it a reality, and we, as the reader, gain a part of that when a story takes us places and stays with us long after. Possibly changing lives along the way.

The Calavera bookmark is a celebration of the lives of books, the souls they carry, and the impact they leave behind

  • Avoid getting your bookmark wet, do not bend or be too rough - as thick as these babies are, they aren't invincible (as much as we wish they were!)
While lamination has been put over the foil, over time some surface scratches to foil may occur due to wear and tear, but follow the above and your bookmarks will stay in tip top condition for a long time!
